Ardmore
Elwell Field – 700 Ardmore Ave, Ardmore, PA 19003 - Take Eagle Rd to Haverford Rd, make a left onto Haverford Rd. then a right onto Ardmore Ave. The park is on your left.
Fenced in playground equipment, lots of different features: swings/ baby swings, basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball / softball field, multi-use field. Some shade, benches, and a water fountain. Good for all ages.
Two (2) mile recreational multi-use trail and open space running from Cynwyd Station to the Manayunk Viaduct and on to Belmont Avenue along an unused portion of Septa’s R-6 tracks. Trail corridor is comprised of separated paved and soft surface trails. www.cynwydtrail.org
Broomall
Marple Gardens –Ann Road, Broomall, PA 19008 - From West Chester Pike (across from Springfield Rd.), Right on to Ann Rd, park entrance is on the left.
Swings, basketball courts, picnic tables, and BBQ grills. Best suits toddlers and preschoolers.
New Ardmore Park - New Ardmore Avenue, Broomall,PA 19008 - Take West Chester Pike west towards I-476 entrance, turn left onto South New Ardmore Ave. Park is about 1 ½ miles down road on left.
Mulch/grass base, Separate toddler area with low equipment. Some of the other equipment sits high off the ground. Swings/baby swings. Open field/basketball courts. Picnic tables/ benches, BBQ, Langford Creek, Lots of shade, Handicap Access. Good for all ages.
Old Marple School Park -Bonsall Ave where it intersects Cynwyd Ave - From West Chester Pike take Broomall Ave one block to Cynwyd Turn left and follow Cynwyd to Bonsall.
Playground equipment for older kids ‘treehouse style’ some high off ground. Open field, hill for sledding and developing nature trail. Picnic benches.
Veteran’s Memorial Park -Lawerence Road, Broomall PA 19008 - Take Sproul Rd out and make right onto Lawrence Park, turn left into park entrance at Parkview Rd stop light.
Wood chip base, Playground equipment for most ages, swings/ baby swings. Playground area is setback away from the parking lot. There are woods behind the playground area, so be careful if your little ones tend to wander! Track with multi-use field in the middle, great for exercising, and a horseshoe pit, Picnic table, bathrooms, gazebo, and BBQ.
Bryn Mawr
Ashbridge Memorial Park – Airdale Road, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010 – 476 to Lancaster Ave, left on Airdale Rd, left on Montgomery, park on right
Playground with jungle gym climbing structures, a spiral sliding board, baby swings and a see-saw. Baseball diamond, batting cage and bike paths. Benches.
One fenced in playground area for younger kids (1+)/ baby swings, which can be muddy after rain. Open playground for older kids, open field. Great slope for sledding.
Dermond Park - Dermond Ave, Drexel Hill PA 19026 - Rte 1 (Twp Line Rd) to Old Lane. Take Old Lane to Dermond Ave. Turn right on Dermond. Follow road back behind basketball courts for parking.
Two separate playground areas (1 fenced in tot lot), Playground equipment for all ages, swings/baby swings, Picnic benches in same area as little league fields. The park can be muddy after rain,
Bailey Park - 300 Virginia Ave, Havertown, PA 19083 - The entrance is the corner of Virginia Ave and Lincoln Rd. You can also park on Washington Rd.
Lots of playground equipment, basketball courts, nature area, and creek.
Chatham Glen Playground - Juniper Road, Havertown, PA 19083 - Twp Line Rd to Earlington, left on Earlington, immediate left on Brentwood, left on Heatherwood
Playground equipment for most ages, not shaded, Open field and great slope for sledding.
Freedom Playground - 9000 Parkview Dr, Haverford, PA 19041 - West Chester Pike, Right onto Lawrence Rd. Left onto Darby Creek Rd. Left onto Parkview Dr. Make next right, park is on your right.
Padded base, fenced in, all abilities playground with a tot lot section, sandbox, and water misters in summer. Baseball, multi-use grass and turf fields. Covered pavilion with picnic tables (adjacent to playground), restrooms and snack bar (open in summer).
Playground equipment for all ages. Basketball courts, tennis courts, open fields, and baseball field, There is an open area on the side of park that backs up to a street. Be alert if your little ones tend to wander. Manoa Elementary School Playground - 201 S Manoa Rd, Havertown, PA 19083 - Drexel Ave towards Havertown, becomes Eagle Rd., turn right onto Manoa rd. (school is on the corner) and pull into parking lot on your right.
Affiliated with the school, Wood chip base, partly fenced in, several playground areas with equipment for all ages,
Merryplace at Glendale Park - 599 Glendale Rd, Havertown, PA 19083 - Take Burmont towards Havertown until 3 way stop, turn Rt. on Glendale, park is about ½ a mile down road on left.
Playground equipment good for most ages, baby swings/swings, and sandbox. Large wooden fort area. Tennis courts and volleyball area with sand. Gazebo, benches, and picnic tables adjacent to playground. Nature Area, trail, and Creek. Entire park (except for trail/ creak area) is fenced in.
Merwood Park – Intersection of Linden Dr and Cherry Lane, Havertown PA 19083 - Take Darby Road until it intersects with Eagle Rd. (Oakmont Pub and Wawa are on the corner.) Go through that light, the road turns into Hathaway Rd. Keep going down Hathaway rd., the park will be at the end. Park along the street.
Playground equipment, multi-use field, baseball field, basketball court, and creek.
High & Low play structures. Baseball field, multi-use field, basketball courts, tennis courts, and hockey. Lots of shade. Picnic tables and Bathrooms (Port-a-potties),
Westgate Hills Park -Oxford Hill Ln, Havertown, PA 19083 - Oxford Hill Lane Burmont Rdtowards Havertown, right on Glendale Rd. left on Greenbriar Lane (second street on left before West Chester pike),at 3rd stop sign Rose Tree Rd. make a right. Go through 3 stop signs, park is on the corner of Rose Tree Rd and Oxford Hill Lane. Playground equipment for all ages (ideal for 2+). Baseball and multi-use fields, and hockey. Lansdowne
WinBelmont Park -Belmont Ave, Lansdowne, PA 19050 - Take Shadeland south across Garrett, turn left on Marshall Rd, turn right on Eldon, turn right on Albemarle. At the end of the street, turn left onto dirt/gravel parking area
Low and high playground equipment good for all ages, swings/baby swings, This park is best in the morning or on cooler days because equipment gets full sun during the day/afternoon. Basketball Courts. Benches and picnic benches,
Hoffman Park – 34 Scottdale Rd, Lansdowne, PA 19050 - Burmont Rd towards Lansdowne, cross over Baltimore Pk. and the park is one block down on the right.
Dirt base, not fenced in and near street, swings. Basketball and tennis courts and baseball field (t-ball/kickball). Picnic tables and bathrooms. Creek/fishing. Lots of shade. Best for older aged kids, as it’s ideal for playing in and exploring the creek.
Windermere Park – Windermere Ave, Lansdowne PA 19050 - Head East on Garrett Rd (towards Lansdowne Ave) Turn Right on to Windermere. The park is on your left before the curve to Marshall Rd. Mulch/grass/dirt base, fenced in, some of the playground equipment is high off of the ground, swings/ baby swings, and toddler slide. Picnic tables. Some shade. Good for all ages but best suits toddlers.
Mulch base, all wood equipment, playground equipment for all ages. Animal feeding inside playground area. Picnic tables and bathrooms close-by. $1 donation requested for park maintenance.
Media Tot Lot - 73 E 3rd St, Media, PA 19063 - Take Rte 1 South past entrance to 476. Take State Road ramp exit on the right, continue onto Old State Rd. Old State becomes Monroe St. Take to 3rdSt., Park is on your right. Street parking or parking in Municipal Building (bathrooms inside).
Padded base, low to ground equipment and completely fenced in. Partly shaded. Ideal for 4 & under.
Ridley Creek State Park - 1023 Sycamore Mills Rd, Media, PA 19063 - Large park with parking in multiple locations depending on which activities you are planning on doing. Very large park. 5 mile trail/loop, great for exercise. Along the trail there are a lot of playground equipment areas, picnic areas, and bathrooms. Horseback riding. Creek access. Dogs allowed.
Narberth
Narberth Park - 100 Conway Ave, Narberth, PA 19072 - Eagle rd becomes Wynnewood Rd, cross over Lancaster Ave, go 2 blocks turn left, go under the train tracks, park is 1 block on right. Completely fenced in, sand base, swings/ baby swings. Picnic Tables. Some shade. Best for toddlers and preschoolers but good for all ages
Philadelphia
Franklin Square Park - 200 N 6th St, Philadelphia, PA 19106 - Closed in Winter, reopens mid-March. Parking is usually a min of $10 – Carpooling recommended. Large park with a brick path, grass base (Great area for picnics). Two playgrounds, fenced in, some equipment is high off ground, swings/ baby swings. Carousel, miniature golf, and storytelling at allotted times. Picnic tables, bathrooms, snack cart, and large fountain. Lots of shade. Great for all ages.
Plymouth Meeting
Community Center Park - Jolly Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 - Take 476 North to exit 20 West Germantown Pike. Follow until Jolly Rd and make a right. The playground is at the end of the big parking lot behind the community center. Woodchip base, two different sets of playground equipment; one for older kids and one for younger kids, swings/baby swings. Park is away from the street. Tennis Courts and walking track around jungle gym. Enough ground for bikes, kites, bats and balls. Picnic tables and bathrooms. Some shade.
All-ages playgrounds, multi-use fields, baseball, basketball, tennis courts, street hockey rink, and paved walking path. Some areas wooded.
Meadowgreen Park - Sloan Rd, Springfield PA 19064 - Take Twp Line Rd to Meetinghouse Lane (last light before underpass, turn Left on Meetinghouse, straight into park entrance.
Playground, baseball field, tennis and basketball courts. Picnic tables and plenty of open space with trees.
Rolling Green Park - West Rolling Road, Springfield PA 19064 - Take Twp Line Rd turn Rt. onto W. Rolling Road. Park is about ½ mile down onthe right. There is a shoulder in the road for parking.
Mulch/dirt base, playground equipment for most ages, swings/ baby swings. Park is down a hill, away from the street. Basketball court. Creek. Lots of shade.
Smedley Park - 20 Papermill Rd, Springfield, PA 19064 - Papermill Rd.½ mile from Mall on the right. Make a right into the driveway and go past a few buildings and over the trolley tracks before reaching the parking lot. Parking lot overlooks park on the left/ next to line of port-a-potties
Ground tire/rubber base playground area for younger kids (1+), elevated playground area for older kids, Picnic tables. Creek, trail, and open Field. Shady, but can be muddy after rain.
Playground is away from road. Most playground equipment is high off of ground (ideal for 3+), swings, merry-go-round, and sandbox. Basketball courts. Good hills for sledding.
Veteran’s Memorial Park - West Springfield Rd, Springfield PA 19064 - Take Twp line/Rte 1 to Springfield Road, make left onto Springfield Rd. Park is 3rd left you can make. Playground equip for all ages, swings/ baby swings, fenced in tot lot. Basketball and tennis courts. Picnic tables.
Swarthmore
CADES Community Park - 401 Rutgers Ave, Swarthmore, PA 19081 - Left onto North Chester Rd., make light Left, stay on Chester Rd crossing over Swarthmore Ave, turn left onto Strathaven Avenue. Once you pass the intersection of Rutgers Ave. and Strathaven Avenue. Park the parking lot entrance is on the left. The tot lot is at the road intersection on the side of the school and the playground is past the parking lot behind the school building.
Base is padded rubber, entire playground is fenced in, swings, fully handicapped accessible. Basketball Court. Picnic tables and benches.
Thatcher Park – Intersection of Rutgers Ave & Cornell Ave, Swarthmore PA 19081 - Follow 320 (Chester Rd. ) South past the University under the train bridge. First left after bridge on Rutgers ave. Park is 300 ft. on the left. Mostly mulch & ground tire, playground equipment best for ages 2-5, swings/ baby swings. Away from street and fenced in on all sides. Picnic Benches and benches. Bathroom within walking distance in Swarthmore Library. Lots of shade.
Upland
Upland Park -280 6th St, Upland, PA 19015 -Sixth St, between Powell Rd. and Patton Ave.Route 352 to Brookhaven Road. Proceed south on Brookhaven Road (which becomes 6th St.) for approximately two miles. The entrance is the first driveway after the 7-11 on the right handside. Large area of playground equipment for all ages.
Playground equipment. Basketball court, roller hockey rink, tennis court and backboard. Dog Park. Paved trail runs along Darby Creek. Picnic benches,
Sellers Library Playground - Intersection of Marple Ave and Maple Ave, Upper Darby PA 19082 - Take State Rd. through Lansdowne Ave. intersection, pass Wawa on your left, make first left after Wawa onto Hazel, make immediate right onto Maple. The library and playground are on the right. Mulch base. Some equipment is high off of the ground, swings/ baby swings. Playground is partially fenced in to fence off from busy road. Baseball diamond. Good hill for sledding. Picnic tables and bathrooms (in library), Best suited for 2 yr olds and up.
Mulch/woodchip base. Some high equipment for older kids and low equipment (tot lot) for younger kids is fenced in, Swings/baby swings, bathrooms, and lots of shade, Open space for running around. Great picnic spaces
South Ardmore Park - 1430 Sussex Rd, Wynnewood, PA 19096 -Take Eagle Rd, until it becomes Wynnewood Rd,, make a right on Spring, then turn left onto Sussex. Playground is towards the end of the block on your right. Parking is on the street.
Dirt/mulch base, fenced in playground area with high and low playground equipment, swings/baby swings/handicap swing. Basketball court, tennis court and baseball field. Lots of open space and some shade. Benches in playground area and picnic tables close by. Bathrooms.
An open space with two playgrounds, one for older kids and one for younger children,swings. A light hiking and walking trail loops around the upper portion of the park. There are 2 tennis courts, restrooms, picnic area, grills, and creek. Shaded for hot days.
